If there's any thread that has been woven through my professional experience, it's the heartbreaking reality that mental health care is deeply flawed. My passion is to increase awareness of mental illness, build communities where others are supportive and encouraging of treatment, and reduce barriers to access.

My professional experience includes a wide range of work through youth residential and foster care programs, individual and group therapy, employer services, corporate and executive coaching and managed care. This has equipped me in a unique way.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Couples Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, EMDR, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am a proponent of mindfulness and meditation and have a special interest in the intersections of our mind, body, spirit and community. I am an LGBTQ ally, culturally responsive and open to all faiths.

Beyond the confines of work you'll likely find me outside. I thrive in nature and among people who challenge and inspire me. If you want to get to know me better join me on a hike, for a meal or maybe at a Durham Bulls game.

I received my Masters of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Geneva College in 2008. I am active and in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (S7802). CV available upon request.
